The Black God

It lives in caverns under the earth;
Its flesh is petrified life,
Its flesh is accumulated death;
Its cries are screeching truck brakes,
which are cries of the earth,
which are cries of buried miners.
It was foretold, this vampire: how it would only enrich when you fed it blood,
How it would envelope entire villages and drive people to murder,
How it would destroy future and past
And abandon you in the present.
